Thank You for listening.

Thank you for listening when you heard me sing, “Spirit, lead me where my trust is without borders / let me walk upon the waters / wherever you would call me / take me deeper than my feet could ever wander / and my faith will be made stronger / in the presence of my Savior”

I always said I wanted to mean what I sang and I really did. I knew it would hurt but I wanted to mean it. I did not want it to be mere clanging of cymbals or an impressive performance — I wanted it to be truth.

So thank You for hearing me and answering my request. The water is deep, it’s dark, it’s overwhelming and unpredictable, and I don’t have the power to control it.
BUT, it’s where I think I have meant to be all along.

I feel free when the salty spray of the ocean mists my face. I feel wild when my hair spins like a vortex every which way as the wind shows me its strength. I feel awake as I take in the smell of the saltwater and see the sun as it kisses the surface of the water. And I feel like I’m not alone when I look to my left and see that You weren’t lying when You said You would uphold me with your righteous right hand.

In the pain, I am home.
In the joy, I am home.
In the lessons,
in the fun,
in the tough,
in the scary,
in the deep,
in the unknown,
in the happiness,
in the promise,
in the purpose

I am home.

I am home, because no matter where I find myself, how high the waves appear, or how deep the ocean gets, I know that You are with me and that the ocean of your grace is deeper and higher.
And that
is        all        I        need.
